THE PARADE

The Annual City Of Lights Holiday Parade welcomes the holiday season with the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the traditional lighting of JFK Plaza and the Wannalancit smoke stack. On Saturday, November 30th at 4:30 p.m., the parade will once again commence from Jackson Street and end at City Hall, where Santa Claus will make his first appearance of the season, and will throw the switch to light City Hall!

FAMILY FUN

City of Lights is a family event with something for everyone. Main attractions include the Holiday Parade, Photos with Santa, a holiday movie screening at the Donahue Family Academic Arts Center and the annual hot chocolate and window decorating contests (vote for your favorite!).

FAMILY QUIET SPACES

In support of making the fun accessible to all Lowellians, family quiet spaces will be available to the public during the event. These locations are open to neurodivergent individuals, nursing parents, or those who may need a break.

Pollard Memorial Library will have a dedicated quiet space from 12:00 PM to 2:30PM, located at 401 Merrimack St, Lowell, MA 01852.

The Lowell National Historical Park Visitor Center will also be available as a quiet space, from 12:00PM to 5:00PM, located at 246 Market St, Lowell, MA 01852.

2024 Grand Marshals

YouthBuild of Greater Lowell

YouthBuild provides education and employment training to prepare youth ages 16 to 24 for careers in construction and culinary arts.  The program helps students identify their career and educational interests, develop an Individualized Employment Plan (IEP), and support them to achieve their goals. All participants have access to the core program components as well as participation in specialized occupational skills training according to their individual interests and capacities.

We are excited to honor YouthBuild of Greater Lowell as the 2024 Grand Marshals of the parade!
